Hachiji-dachi (Natural stance)

Hachiji Dachi is a position that seems very simple and it is also very simple. However, it is a position that is often poorly executed - feet too far apart, feet parallel, position too low or too high, attitude too tight or inversely too relaxed these are some defects that can be seen on Hachiji Dachi.

In Hachiji Dachi, the feet are shoulder width apart, toes pointing forward. The karateka stands upright, facing straight forward. While in hachiji dachi, the karateka is usually in a yoi (ready) position.

Attitude of readiness Hachiji-dachi.
