You will never stop learning in karate.

You will never stop learning in karate.
— Gichin Funakoshi

My interpretation on one of the 20 guiding precepts of Shotokan Karate-Do.

Continuous learning and personal development - Karate is a lifelong pursuit. You will never stop learning in karate. Karate is an endless road of training and dedication. I believe nobody has ever reached the end of their training and nobody ever will. The reason is because there is no end. You must be prepared to train in karate for the rest of your life, because that's how long it will take.

If we were to look at karate outside the combative field, karate has many personal benefits such as; it builds confidence, it helps you cope positively with change, it helps you be more productive and active in life, karate can help you reflect on your learning and highlighting gaps in your self-awareness and so on.

One of the best things about karate, which is reflective to life itself, is that we never stop learning. There are always new skills to learn and techniques for us to adopt. When you look at the most successful people around you, they understand this. The best instructors spends most of their time training, they don't act like they know everything, but they all understand the fact that they have to continuously learn in karate and life to be successful and the best.

For us to live the ways of karate-do to the fullest, we must continually look for ways to improve.
